VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and is a nationwide program where IRS-certified volunteers prepare tax returns for free for individuals & families who qualify based on income (earning less than $66,000 as a household in 2019).
Last year, the VITA Free Tax Prep Program completed 14,750 returns, helped taxpayers save more than $2.8 million in tax preparation fees and brought more than $20 million in federal refunds back to the community. All of this was done with the help of VITA Volunteers.
St. Luke’s VITA Site opens on Tuesday, February 4th and will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 am – 4 pm and Thursdays from 1 pm – 6 pm. By appointment only! Contact the front office at (615) 350-7893 to schedule your appointment.
